Purcell Tire utilizes tire tracking software to monitor the performance of tires at numerous sites. The information collected on approximately 45,000 tires over many years affords us the knowledge and experience to make the proper recommendations to an operation for achieving the best tire performance and cost-per-mile or –hour.
There are two main purposes to track tires. First, it provides an inventory control and tracking system. Second, tracking data can be used to provide analytical information to help managers understand tire performance, identify problems, identify areas for improvement, and other key indicators that would extend the life of tires.
Continual monitoring and analysis of tire performance will yield a Monthly and Annual Tire Performance Report summarizing various aspects of a mine site tire program, including recommendations for continual improvement of performance and cost. Continually reviewing the tire performance enables the operation to monitor activities, performance, cost, and areas of continual improvement. Monthly snapshots enable an operation to review their progress with a benchmarking program. This snapshot includes:
To manage a mine site tire program effectively, tire and wheel inventories must be closely monitored, whether they are mounted (i.e. in-service) or in storage awaiting installation.
